Royle Family

The Royle family ran for 3 series between 1998 and 2000 an also ran a special episode in 2006.

The Royles are a working class manchester family, whith Barbara Rolye being the main breadwinner whilst husband Jim sits at home in his armchair watching television he is generally lazy, loud mouthed and over oppioninated however he does share some afecionayr moments with the family. Antony is Barbaras and Jims son he is left to run al the errens such as making brews and going getting the chippy only Barbara sticks up for him while the others all take the mick. This sitcom is very real and true to life of a typical family all the heart felt moments are there whilst making the situations incredably funny. All the episodes are based in the family living room and this is where the most common catchphrase of the Royle family occurs 'my arse' said by Jim. Other characters include Jim and Barbaras daughter Denise shes lazy and smokes like a chimeny shes married to dave and in the second series has baby david whoi she constantly passes round for people to look after. Dave Denises husband is always constantly nagged by his wife and doesnt stand up to her alothough whyen baby david arrives he does show how much he loves his son by constantly building things dave is also a part time Dj. The last character is Nana, Jim and Nana don't like each other and are frequently arguing and making sly jokes alothough Nana is constantly dicusssing death with the family she is gentl and always comical she also tries to hard the fact she likes a drink.
